At our local gym you can substitute the wonders of the great outdoors for the cramped and sweaty indoors, marking your fitness progress against an electronic hill chart. The idea is simple. It shows how many calories it takes and how far up an imaginary mountain your level of exertion and effort will get you.The results are depressing a half an hour workout hardly gets you started.
This “virtual mountain” display of my efforts so far…. calorie expenditure in two sessions 498….which barely gets me off the ground!
