Distance: 2–3 miles
Allow: 1–2 hours

There is roadside parking for 2–3 cars on the B3315, near the footpath entrance to the St Loy woods, between Porthcurno and Llamorna, West Penwith.

From the small roadside parking area, take the public footpath down through the trees. The path winds through lush, sheltered woodland.

Continue following the footpath as it slopes downwards.

St Loy

You soon see the spectacular sight of St Loy Cove.It is a beautiful secluded beach where enormous, rounded granite boulders meet the sea. A bench is perfectly positioned for sitting or enjoying a picnic, listening to the waves breaking against the rocks. You get a wonderful feeling of being in a secret and remote part of Cornwall.

After spending time enjoying the cove, retrace your steps back through the woods. This time keep right and follow the lane into Boskenna.

The writer Mary Wesley stayed at Boskenna and found inspiration for writing the much-loved 1984 novel The Camomile Lawn here.

Follow the path through the wooded garden and back to the road where you began the walk.
