Pick your own flower farms are found all over the UK and have become very popular in recent years. It’s easy to see why. Visiting a flower field is a joyful summer activity and with environmental concerns over supermarket flowers being flown in from far and wide it makes perfect sense to collect fresh flowers grown locally and seasonally.

We visited a beautiful flower farm in Reydon close to Southwold in June. We spent a relaxing morning browsing and choosing flowers to take home and arrange ourselves.

The Southwold Flower Farm is open daily in the Summer months and entry is free. You can browse the gift shop on site and select a jar, vase or bucket (ranging from £7 to £50.00) and scissors then head out to the field full of pretty blooms.

The cutting field is packed with flowers to suit all tastes, a diverse mix including bright dahlias, poppies, scabious, achillea, delphiniums, gypsophila, cosmos, and daisies all combine with the heavenly scent of roses. We were more than happy with our selection…

Workshops are also available at the flower farm for those who want to learn more about the art of floristry. The flower farm Company have an additional shop located at the top of Southwold High Street.
